Up for sale, an Ibanez TS-808HW Hand-Wired Tube Screamer Overdrive in excellent condition, complete with the original padded metal box and paperwork. With tag board construction, the TS-808HW has the space and layout inside the enclosure to use higher wattage metal film resistors than the usual TS-808 build, and the premium build quality in terms of both circuit design and the rugged overbuilt enclosure ensure a gigworthy, no-corners-cut iteration of the classic TS-808 Tube Screamer sound.
Of the different chips used to voice this pedal, the JRC4558D chip is the one known to create the most classic and sought after TS-808 tone, with a very vocal midrange quality. From the sweet, pronounced midrange content to the powerful boost capabilities and smooth overdrive characteristics, this pedal delivers a tone that has been endlessly copied but never duplicated.
Cosmetically, this pedal is in near mint condition, with clean graphics and stock black knobs. There are a few scuffs on the large metal crate/box with foamed interior.
