Up for sale, a 2016 Fender American Vintage ‘65 Jazzmaster in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and all hangtags. Offered for just a few short years at the end of the original American Vintage run, this Jazzmaster faithfully captures the spec of the original ‘65 model, boasting transition features including a bound rosewood fretboard with dot inlay, “Mid ‘60s” neck profile, witch hat knobs, and gray bobbin single coil pickups.
The instrument boasts Fender’s “Flash Coat” nitro lacquer finish, a rebranding of the Thin Skin concept, where the finish is shot thin for maximal resonance, omitting a poly base coat. Fender’s Pure Vintage ‘65 single coils feature gray fiber bobbins, alnico magnets, and cloth-covered leads, delivering an array of powerful and defined tones. The neck position is smooth and broad, with an articulate top end response matched by ample bass, particularly when engaging the Rhythm Circuit.
