Up for sale, a 2006 Gibson L-200 Emmylou Harris in showroom clean, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case and the original hangtags. Designed in collaboration with the country icon (and hand-signed by Emmylou on the serialized label in the soundhole), this unique Gibson is effectively a slightly scaled-down version of Gibson’s SJ200; Harris has a long-running association with the Southern Jumbo, having used one extensively across her career, as far back as her pioneering work with Gram Parsons. This L-200 has a 15” lower bout, and its proportions still deliver the combination of power and detail that have made the SJ-200 such an enduring favorite.

This is the second iteration of the L-200 platform, more faithful to its jumbo sibling in terms of the body shape, outfitted from the factory with a Schertler Bluestick undersaddle transducer pickup and preamp. Additionally, this particular L-200 was originally sold in Japan by Gibson USA's distributor, Yamano: the Yamano instruments are often considered among Gibson's best, featuring the highest quality woods hand-picked for Gibson's discerning Japanese audience.

Featuring a solid Sitka spruce top, solid curly maple back/sides, flame maple neck, and bound rosewood fingerboard, this Emmylou Harris model is a true “best of both worlds” guitar: the 4 3/8“ body depth ensures there’s plenty of power on tap, with a potent, immediate snap, but the dimensions of this instrument also guarantee no unwanted boominess. The pairing of maple and spruce result in detail and warmth, always crisp and responsive to user inputs. The Schertler Bluestick undersaddle transducer does a remarkable job of faithfully capturing the natural tone of the instrument, with just a touch of brassy growl. This L-200 Emmylou Harris weighs 4lbs 4oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

The gloss Antique Natural nitro lacquer finish highlights the ripples of curly flame figuring in the maple, particularly dimensional on the back. As clean as they come, there are only a couple faint finish scratches in the clear coat on the body, and the nitro gloss on the neck profile is flawless.

A (non-original) Gibson-branded hardshell case is included, along with the original Gibson/Yamano hangtags.
