Up for sale, a 2006 Gibson Custom Shop Historic 1958 Les Paul Standard LPR-8 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, CoA, and hangtags. A Gibson Custom Shop model that faithfully replicates the myriad finer points of a 1958 Les Paul Standard, this R8 boasts a baseball bat neck profile and a pair of Burstbucker PAF humbuckers.

Weighing only 9lbs 2oz, this Les Paul has a pronounced voice when strummed unplugged, with great bark in the low end, and sparkling, round-sounding plain strings that deliver a zing and also a richness that makes lead lines come through with great clarity and body. The Burstbucker #1 and #2 PAF pickups do an excellent job of translating the natural sonic qualities of the instrument; there's plenty of power and bark in the bridge position, with thick, woody sounds from the neck pickup that are ideal for fat leads. This Les Paul benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Heritage Cherry Sunburst nitro lacquer finish highlights subtle birdseye figuring in the maple Plain Top, with some broad lacquer checking across the back. There are just a few faint finish scratches in the clear coat, and the nitro gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean, with a couple shallow marks along the profile length that are virtually undetectable to the palm while fretting.

The original black Gibson Custom hardshell case is included, along with the serialized CoA and hangtags.
