Up for sale, a 1990 Ibanez 440R-HH in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This uncommon Ibanez model was crafted at the Fujigen factory in Japan as part of the Radius series, featuring a sleek, sculpted body and an Ultra neck profile, an asymmetrical aerofoil-shaped carve designed for maximum playability and speed. The Radius body shape is widely associated with Joe Satriani, who used the same slender, contoured shape for his signature JS guitars.
Tonewoods include a basswood body, maple neck, and 22-fret slab rosewood fingerboard, lightweight at 7lbs 2oz. The Ibanez Vintage humbuckers yield distinct sounds at each position on the switch: the V1 humbucker in the neck position has a traditional PAF-style tonal palette, slightly overwound for beefier mids and taut lows, and the V2 humbucker at the bridge is powerful and bold, with punchy, singing trebles ideal for high gain scenarios. This 440R-HH has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, dialed in with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.
