Up for sale, a 1988 Fender Telecaster ‘72 vintage reissue model TL72-55 in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. This early “Made in Japan” Tele was crafted at the Fujigen factory during the golden age of Fender Japan production, uncommon outside of its country of origin.
Tonewoods include an ash body and one-piece maple neck, and this guitar has a bold natural acoustic quality with great treble snap and midrange oomph, qualities captured by the pickup pair. The TL-Single alnico magnet pickups deliver focused, gutsy twang in the bridge position and a smooth percussive cut at the neck. Weighing 8lbs 13oz, this Telecaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Slender C, measuring .800” 1st fret, .875” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Maple, 7 1/4" vintage-spec radius
-Frets: Slender, leveled/crowned, faint wear beneath G and B strings on frets 1-6
-Scale Length: 25 1/2”
-Nut: 1.650” (42mm), bone
-Tuners: Gotoh
-Serialization: “Made in Japan,” E-prefix

-Hardware: “Pat. Pend” bridge with steel barrel saddles, flat-top knurled knobs (chrome-plated)

The gloss Butterscotch finish shows various dings and scuffs on the body from honest use, with some shallow marks on the neck profile gloss that don’t distract the palm while fretting.
A molded hardshell case is included.
