Up for sale, a 1987 Charvel by Jackson Model 3B in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced in Japan from 1986-89, this short-lived, streamlined Charvel bass features neck-through construction, a PJ pickup complement with active EQ controls, and a gloss Pearl White finish.
Weighing 9lbs 9oz, this bass features rock maple neck-through construction, paired with poplar body wings and a quartersawn slab rosewood fretboard. The pickups comprise a J-20 split-coil (P-style) and a J-150 single coil (J-style), both featuring Alnico V construction. The J-20 delivers round punch and growl, and the J-150 single coil has a more focused presence with rich midrange grind and more aggressive cut. The two pickups complement each other well in the middle position on the three-way pickup selector, and the PE-2000 active EQ enables a great deal of tonal sculpting with dedicated center detent boost/cut Treble and Bass knobs. This Model 3B has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 50-105 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and accurate intonation.
