Up for sale, a 1986 Fender Stratocaster ‘72 vintage reissue model ST72-65 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Crafted at the Fujigen factory, this early “Made in Japan” Stratocaster faithfully channels Ritchie Blackmore, produced about a decade prior to the introduction of Fender Japan’s official Blackmore signature model, boasting graduated scalloping on the slab rosewood fingerboard, black-on-white plastics, and a gloss Olympic White finish.
From throaty, rich lead tones in the neck position, thinned out squawk in positions 2 and 4, and a bell-like, shimmery bridge pickup, this Strat covers all the classic tonal bases via the original trio of alnico magnet pickups. Tonewoods include a basswood body, maple neck, and slab rosewood fretboard with graduated scalloping (favoring the treble side of the fingerboard and getting notably deeper as you travel up the neck). This ST72-65 weighs 8lbs 11oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
