Up for sale, a 1979 Fender Stratocaster in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. With an ash body and maple neck with a deep U-shaped profile carve, this Strat offers great natural midrange punch, tight low end cut and great treble sparkle via the trio of flat pole alnico magnet pickups. The pickups are notably jangly and sparkling, particularly at the bridge and the “in-between” settings on the five-way switch, which yield a slinky quack and cut. The neck pickup has a fuller bark and a broad, smooth treble response. This Stratocaster weighs 9lbs 9oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The clear coat on the gloss Olympic White finish has notably yellowed, with a small rectangular “tan line” from a removed sticker adjacent to the bridge. There is some shallow wear on the bass side of the top from wrist jewelry, a few small chips along the body perimeter, a small area of buckle wear largely relegated to the tremolo cavity cover, and just a few additional minor marks. The ambered gloss on the neck profile highlights curly flame figuring in the maple, clean and smooth save for a couple shallow marks that are nigh undetectable to the palm while fretting.
The original black tolex hardshell case is included. The case is extremely clean, with functional latches and raised Fender badge on the lid.
