Up for sale, a 1976 Greco Custom Shop Project Series EG1200 in perfect working order, complete with the original “Faultless” hardshell case. Essentially Greco's first custom shop with the initial models introduced in ‘76, the Project Series guitars were special order only and produced in batches of roughly 40 instruments, with top tier features not available on Greco's standard line. Taking its cues from a 1960 Gibson Les Paul Standard “Burst”, the EG1200 features a hand-rubbed nitro lacquer Violin finish on the carved maple top and mahogany body, loaded with the original pair of double white DiMarzio PAFs.

Lightweight for an LP-style guitar at 8lbs 12oz, this Greco dishes out plenty of natural sustain and liveliness, qualities that are translated faithfully through the DiMarzio PAF humbuckers. These pickups are rich and articulate, with growl and power in the bridge position, balanced by a present, smooth neck pickup that is notably rich and full. This EG1200 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The hand-rubbed gloss “Violin” lacquer finish is a very distinctive application from Greco, with buckle rash through the finish along the bass side back edge, and various dings and nicks consistent with use. The smooth gloss on the neck profile also has some shallow marks, smoothed through contact with the palm.

The original Faultless black tolex hardshell case is included.
