Up for sale, a 1970s Greco FVB900 in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and owner’s manual. This rare Greco is a very unique Flying V, essentially a bass companion to the “Rocket Roll” model guitar, featuring a “PJ” pickup pair and a three-point bridge with arrow accent tailpiece. Based on the unique Maxon single coil-sized humbucker, this particular FVB900 was produced either in ‘77 or ‘78.
This FVB900 boasts maple set-neck construction, paired with an ash body and a slab rosewood fretboard, enduring great midrange warmth and heft. The Maxon-made PU-109 split-coil pickup at the neck is thick and round, yielding plenty of thump and smooth treble growl. The Maxon “Original” single coil-sized humbucker at the bridge features a unique design with double pole pieces: sonically, this pickup is mean and aggressive, with an ideal blend of focused upper-mid snarl and punchy lows. Weighing 9lbs 2oz, this FVB900 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 groundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple (three-piece)
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .835” 1st fret, .935” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, 12” radius, dot inlay
-Frets: Medium jumbo, light wear on frets 1-9
-Scale Length: 33 1/2”
-Nut: 1 11/16”, bone
-Headstock: Stinger
-Tuners: Greco MHB808
Body Specs:
-Wood: Ash
-Pickups: PU-109 split-coil, “Original” single coil-sized humbucker (Maxon-made)
-Controls: Volume x2, Tone, Three-way pickup selector
-Hardware: Three-point adjustable bridge, arrow accent tailpiece

The gloss Yellow Natural finish highlights the uniform grain in the ash body, designed to visually replicate korina, and cosmetic wear is limited to a bit of buckle worming on the back and a few minor dings on the body. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original black tolex hardshell case is included, along with the owner’s manual.
