Up for sale, a 1968 Fender Mustang Bass in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. This Mustang Bass boasts a body-only Sherwood Green nitro lacquer refinish and light relic courtesy of MJT, retaining all original hardware and the stock gray bobbin split coil pickup.

Tonally, this bass is warm and thick, with smooth sustain and oomph accentuated by the 45-105 flatwound strings.  There's a certain pluck and punch unique to this bass, achieved via the shorter 30” scale, that's particularly appealing and sits well in a mix, filling out the low end nicely while offering more upper midrange focus than a P. Lightweight at 7lbs 4oz, this Mustang Bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with easy-playing action and accurate intonation.

The gloss Sherwood Green nitro lacquer refinish has been lightly relic’d to match the original finish on the neck and headstock, including cross-hatched checking and some simulated marks of wear, with very subsequent playwear beyond the factory aging. There is limited lacquer overspray on the neck profile, with palm wear through much of the gloss for a worn-in, easy-playing feel.

A modern Fender black tolex hardshell case is included.
