Up for sale, a 1965 Gibson Melody Maker in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. Finished in gloss Cherry nitro lacquer, this single-pickup Melody Maker features the original short-frame Maestro Vibrola and compensated bridge.

This Melody Maker features Honduran mahogany body construction and a one-piece mahogany neck capped with a rosewood fingerboard, featherweight at 5lbs 12oz. The single coil pickup combines a Fender-esque snap and twang with the fuller midrange and low end punch that mahogany provides, with a raw, bell-like sound and tonal profile all its own. This Melody Maker has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Cherry nitro lacquer finish is bold and saturated, with lacquer checking and limited touch-up on top central to the lower bout and at the bass-side waist. Cosmetic wear includes some finish chips along the lower bout perimeter and a handful of minor dings on the body as a whole. The gloss on the neck is smooth and clean with a few shallow marks.

A modern black tolex hardshell case is included.
