Up for sale, a circa 1964 Silvertone Tenor Folk Guitar in perfect working order. This uncommon tenor guitar was produced by Kay in the USA for Sears' house brand "Silvertone" to capitalize on the folk boom of the ‘60s. According to the 1964 Sears Roebuck catalog, it’s “[a]s easy to play as a ukulele but you get a rich, full guitar tone for westerns, folk songs, hootenanny fun.”

Tonewoods include a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, a mahogany neck, and a rosewood fingerboard and bridge. This tenor is punchy and bright with a 23" scale length, offering a plucky, percussive quality that's also smooth and warm. Weighing 3lbs 11oz, this Silvertone Tenor Folk Guitar has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-32 bronze strings and easy-playing action.
