Up for sale, a 1963 Fender Reverb Unit in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This outboard effect boasts one of the Reverb Unit's shorter lived cosmetic combinations with smooth blonde tolex, wheat grillcloth with a raised Fender logo, a dark brown flat handle, and cream barrel knobs on the (very dark) Brown Panel faceplate.
This Pre-CBS all tube design delivers lush and detailed spring reverb, outfitted with a vintage Sylvania 6K6 power tube. With controls for Dwell, Mix, and Tone, it's easy to dial in the perfect amount of splash and sparkle, and this classic Fender effect simply goes in-line between your guitar and amp.
The circuit is extremely original, and all Schumacher-made transformers (Fender's primary transformer supplier in the '60s) date to 1963. The Stackpole pots date to the 29th week of '63, and the preamp retains its full complement of blue molded Ajax and yellow Astron capacitors. The power supply has been professionally recapped with F&Ts, and there are new smaller Sprague electrolytics in the preamp. The original two-prong power cable is still present.
The Accutronics two-spring tank is original with date stamps from the 39th week of '63, and the stock RCA cables with braided leads connect to the circuit. The tube chart is intact inside the cabinet.
The cabinet retains the original smooth blonde tolex and wheat grillcloth, both of which are well-kept. There are some minor marks on the cabinet, and the faceplate is extremely clean, with bright graphics and original barrel knobs. There are also some unusual remnants of blue paint on the back of the chassis.
