Up for sale, a 1954 Gibson Les Paul Junior in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. A first-year example of Gibson's classic "student model" platform, this Junior is ready to be played, featuring a refret with (late '50s spec) medium jumbo fretwire, a carved bone nut, and full depth 1" bridge inserts for maximum stability and resonance.

Featuring a Honduran mahogany body and chunky C-shaped neck capped by a Brazilian rosewood fretboard, this Les Paul Junior offers plenty of natural treble zing and rich growl. The P-90 pickup is wound slightly more conservatively than later examples at 7.8k ohms, with a very dynamic, touch-sensitive quality and excellent note detail. Cleans are glassy and textured, while overdriven tones have ample bark and midrange push. Weighing 7lbs 6oz, this Les Paul Junior has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.

There is a professionally-addressed headstock repair, with overspray on the bottom third of the headstock face, masking three small dowels added for structural integrity. There is some minor reshaping of the neck carve behind the nut, and gloss lacquer overspray extending down the neck profile until fret 9. There is no visible repaired crack, and the nitro gloss is very smooth to the palm on the profile length. The Sunburst gloss nitro lacquer finish on the body is 100% original, with prominent horizontal checking and notable edge wear down to the bare mahogany, particularly on the back, as well as various nicks and scuffs from use.

A vintage (circa 1970s) Gibson hardshell case is included, along with the original slender "banjo" fretwire and stock 1/2" bridge inserts.
