Up for sale, a Bruno Custom Amps Cow Tipper Pro II 22 1x12” combo amp in showroom-clean condition and in perfect working order, loaded with a bevy of vintage tubes. Bruno amps are the brainchild of “The Amp Guru,” Tony Bruno, and each amp is custom designed, point-to-point wired, and tested by Tony himself, with no corners cut and exceptional attention to detail.
This Cow Tipper Pro II 22 (aka Underground 22) is designed to evoke a classic American-flavored “Black Panel” circuit. The tone is smooth, warm, and clean, with fantastic treble sweetness and a very linear gain structure. Highly responsive to player inputs, the single channel amp offers superb note articulation and thick saturated crunch when dimed out, cleaning up well when backing off your instrument volume control. The on-board Reverb has plenty of splash and body, featuring its own dedicated Tone knob to fine tune the effect.
The tube complement comprises largely vintage valves, with a matched pair of PhilipsECG 6V6 power tubes, a tubes from the likes of Mullard and RCA in the preamp. The Celestion G12H 70th Anniversary 12” speaker delivers strong low-end and powerful low-mids, slicing through any mix with an aggressive upper midrange and ice-cool trebles.
The cabinet is constructed of finger-jointed solid pine, with a birch ply baffle for optimal resonance. Other features include smooth black tolex, a padded handle, heavy-duty feet, chromed steel corners, and all stainless steel screws/bolts. Cosmetic touches include the salt and pepper grillcloth, silver piping, and an Art Deco-style control panel with aged ivory chickenhead knobs.
