Up for sale, a Tone King Falcon 1x10 tube amp in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Channeling the zeitgeist of Tone King's Imperial model, the Falcon features a 6V6 power tube pair in an ultralinear configuration, cathode biased with zero negative feedback.Reminiscent of vintage Supro circuits and Fender's 5E3 Tweed-era Deluxe, the Falcon is highly responsive to playing dynamics, yielding smooth cleans when played softly and delivering overdriven sizzle and grit when picked with authority. When dimed out, the amp delivers fat, saturated overdrive with even ordered harmonics.The Falcon's designer, Mark Bartel, created the Falcon's new preamp circuit to have a "raw, tweed-meets-supro tone with beefy mids and a sweetly burnished top end." The three-position voicing switch for the preamp allows for a brighter, cleaner sound, or a tighter sound with increased gain.On the back panel is the Falcon's built-in attenuator, featuring the same technology found in Tone King's IronMan Attenuator. With its tuned reactive load and 100% transformer load matching, the Falcon can be pushed to its limits, retaining its tonal muscle, overdrive characteristics and sonic sensitivity at bedroom volumes.The circuit is voiced through the stock Eminence 10" ceramic magnet Rajin' Cajun speaker. This very efficient driver is engineered to be touch-sensitive and responsive across its frequency range, with bell-like trebles and a bit of bite.Cosmetics include black and white two-tone tolex, silver sparkle grillcloth, and a vertical control plate with three sizeable dials. The amp presents very well, with just a few minor scuffs on the enclosure edges.
