Up for sale, a Tokai Blazing Fire electric guitar in excellent condition and in perfect working order. A wood-bodied reissue of the original aluminum body "Talbo" Tokai model, this particular Blazing Fire has a vibrant red metalflake finish and versatile HSS pickup compliment. Similar in concept to a modern Stratocaster's pickup and control layout, the pair of single coils and bridge position humbucker are governed by a five-way pickup selector switch. While the bridge position humbucker is thick and powerful, the middle and neck position single coils are snappy and sparkling with ample top end cut. Weighing 6lbs 13oz and professionally setup here at Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar, this rare Blazing Fire model is dialed in with low action and accurate intonation.
The maple neck has a full feeling medium C shape with good shoulder and modest increase in profile depth as you travel up the thick slab rosewood fretboard, with the profile measuring .860” deep at the 1st fret and graduating to .925” at the 12th. The fretboard is a generous slab of rosewood, and the original medium jumbo frets show light wear beneath the G and B strings on frets 1-7, with lighter wear extending beneath the B up the majority of the fretboard. Also in familiar Fender territory, the scale length is a full 25 1/2” scale, and the bone nut measures 1 11/16“ in width, providing comfortable string spacing. The slender headstock sports a set of six-on-a-side Kluson-style tuners which hold pitch well.
All of the electronics work as they should, with a five-way pickup selector and Master Volume and Tone knobs governing the pickups. The back has a distinctive German Carve which accentuates the fluid lines of the body shape, and cosmetic wear includes a few scattered shallow dings and a few light finish scratches on the bass side of the body on the back. The rich red metalflake finish extends up the neck profile which is extremely clean aside from a couple infinitesimal marks on the neck profile carve behind fret 7.
A gigbag is included.
