Up for sale, a Supro USA Dual-Tone 1x12” in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. Set apart from Supro's recent output, this Zinky-era Supro is a recreation of the iconic 1624T, one of the most highly coveted mid-’60s Supro amps. Designed by Bruce Zinky, formerly the head of the Fender's Amp Custom Shop, the Dual Tone is essentially a Supro-branded iteration of the Zinky Electronics Blue Velvet, featuring a dual-channel, 25 watt EL84-powered design with footswitchable, lush onboard tube-driven spring reverb.This USA-made Supro faithfully captures the classic ‘60s Supro tones, with an extra kick unique to the Zinky design; the cleans are fat and compressed, cascading into quintessential Supro grind when cranked up. The Overdrive channel is dirty and crunchy, with plenty of midrange harmonic complexity and creamy richness. Clean channel controls include Volume and Tone knobs, and Overdrive channel controls include Gain, Volume and Tone knobs. Both channels have two-way Mid Boost/Cut switches, for added tonal heft, with global Reverb and Master Volume controls.The cabinet is loaded with the stock Supro 12” ceramic magnet speaker, manufactured by Eminence. The tube complement includes a Sovtek EL84 power tube pair, with preamp tubes from the likes of JJ and Mullard.The black tolexed cabinet sports a pale grillcloth with Supro silkscreen logo, topped off with a premium leather handle. The white faceplate has mini pointer knobs. Cosmetic wear is limited to a scant few scuffs on the enclosure edges.The amp is complete with a fitted slip cover and Zinky Electronics two-button footswitch for channel switching and engaging the reverb.
