Described by Strymon as “the culmination of a thorough analysis of numerous analog and vacuum tube circuits,” the Riverside delivers a bevy of versatile, harmonically-rich tube-inspired drive sounds.

The Riverside’s cascading gain stages create a wide range of immensely musical and natural-sounding tones, from silky clean overdrive to colossal distortion and all points in between. The analog JFET front end ensures dynamic responsiveness and feel, and the precision-crafted DSP generates dynamic complexity and harmonics at every stage. Additionally, the continuously variable circuit tuning dynamically tweaks multiple parameters "under the hood," so that the sweet spot follows you at any gain setting. As the Drive knob is dialed up, the Riverside makes continuous adjustments, tuning the circuit for optimal tone. Sparkling cleans, mild overdrives, high-gain leads, and heavily saturated distortions all sound equally exceptional.

Simple, user-friendly controls include Drive and Level knobs, with Bass, Middle and Treble EQ knobs, and mini-toggles for Low/High Gain and Normal/Mid Push. The Favorite footswitch allows for quick access to a saved preset. Additionally, the three-way Presence min toggle tailors the top end character of the signal to match your amp. The Riverside is also compatible with a standard TRS expression pedal for Volume control/swells, and there is an independent Boost jack for use with an external switch to toggle up to +6dB of additional boost.
