Up for sale, a Strymon Cloudburst Ambient Reverb pedal in mint condition, complete with the original packaging. This scaled-down Strymon offering delivers the same build quality and tone of its full-size V2 siblings, featuring a discrete JFET analog front end, stereo I/O, and full MIDI functionality.
The key to the Cloudburst’s atmosphere and breadth is the Decay knob, which is fine-tuned to sweep through the entire spectrum of reverb types, from room tone to full on cathedral bliss. Other controls include Pre-Delay, Tone, Mod, and Mix knobs, with a three-way Ensemble toggle (off/mp/forte) that generates artifact-free harmonics reminiscent of a synthesized string section. Another singular control, Ensemble analyzes 48 different frequency bands, then generates upper harmonic partials relative to each, enabling a sort of cascading ambience very unique to this pedal. Finally, the Mod control is a dual-function knob that impacts the effect’s depth up to noon and then speed from 6-10. This design pairs very well with the Ensemble effect, resulting in a ‘80s synthesizer-esque texture and lushness.
In typical Strymon form, the Cloudburst features an electromechanical relay-switched true bypass wiring configuration, switchable to buffered bypass for a long signal chain, and the full MIDI and USB functionality enables remote control via a DAW or controller, with 300 MIDI preset locations available.
