Up for sale, a brand new Riggio Custom Guitars Burst Standard, complete with a Lifton-style hardshell case. In a class all his own, Joe Riggio creates some of the most compelling, soulful, and truly inspiring guitars made in this decade or any other. Riggio's Burst Standard is a fastidiously hand-crafted instrument from his one-man shop, with production limited to only a few dozen instruments a year, sparingly few of which are Bursts. The body shape trademarks of this instrument are also officially licensed by Gibson.

With hand-selected lightweight tonewoods, proprietary neck carves (mapped on a CNC from actual vintage examples), accurate hardware and plastics, and a proper deep dish carve on the two-piece curly maple cap, this Burst Standard checks all the essential boxes for the player whose tastes run to '50s Burst conversions, Collector's Choice models, and aged Murphy Lab Custom Shop examples.

The Burst Standard is extremely lively and notably lightweight at only 8lbs 15oz, featuring a carved Eastern maple flame top, mahogany body, and one-piece mahogany neck capped with a dark Indian rosewood fingerboard. The Riggio PAF pickups meter at 7.9k ohms in both neck and bridge positions. The bridge pickup has a sparkling cut and smooth growl, with a tight, bouncy bass register and a real midrange sweetness. The neck pickup balances pillowy warmth with authoritative percussive cut, offering a sound both silky and clear, and each position on the three-way pickup selector is vital and distinct. This Burst Standard is dialed in with low action, accurate intonation, and 10-46 strings.

The one-piece mahogany neck has a round and substantial "59 C" profile carve, shy of 1957-58 baseball bat chunk, while still providing plenty of roundness, measuring .875" deep at the 1st fret and .985" at the 12th. The bound Indian rosewood fretboard is a dark cut of this tonewood inlaid with celluloid trapezoids and featuring 45/100 vintage spec fretwire. Traditional measurements include a 12" fretboard radius, 24 3/4" scale length, and 1 11/16" nut width. The headstock is inlaid with Riggio's script logo and feature tulip button Kluson-style tuning machines.

Electronics include Riggio's PAF pickups, CTS 500K audio taper pots, and premium tone caps. Hardware comprises a Kluson no-wire ABR-1 bridge and corresponding stopbar, and all of the nickel plating on the hardware has light simulated patina. Plastics include cream pickup rings and single-ply pickguard as well as a quartet of amber bonnet knb with properly dished tops. The pure nitro lacquer Dark Cherry Sunburst highlights the curly flame figuring across the two-piece top, and the maple has a correct '50s deep dish top carve and subtle return at the binding edge. The guitar is topped off with Riggio's light, tasteful relic treatment comprising lacquer checking and some small marks of simulated wear.

A Riggio-branded Lifton-style hardshell case with brown mottled exterior and pink plush interior is included.
