Up for sale, a 1993 Grover Jackson Super Dinky Standard electric guitar in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. A rare Japanese domestic market model, this Jackson Super Dinky was expertly crafted at the Chu Shin factory, featuring a solid mahogany body, a maple neck with bound rosewood fretboard, and an SSH pickup configuration with upgraded USA-made EMGs.
Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the EMG 81 was designed for optimal note detail, enhanced high end cut, and fluid sustain. Traditionally used in the bridge position, the EMG 81 is engineered so that lead work will slice through even the densest mix. The bridge position 81 is paired with two EMG SA single coils, offering an unmistakable Super Strat sound. These active single coils feature Alnico V bar magnets for a bright and airy top end with a rich bass register. With internal shielding and a low impedance preamp, the SA is a virtually noiseless pickup without sacrificing true single coil tone. The Alnico V bar magnet ensures a balanced, articulate response without drop outs during big string bends and works well with overdrive for a sound that is defined, strong, and expressive. This Super Dinky weighs 7lbs 6oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
The maple neck has a very slender, shred-worthy C shaped profile carve with moderate shoulder, measuring .715” deep at the 1st fret and .830” at the 12th. The bound slab rosewood fretboard features a compound 12-16” radius, mini dot inlay markers, and stock jumbo fretwire. The frets have good height and meat with well-rounded crowns, showing light wear exclusively beneath the plain strings on frets 1-14. The guitar plays effortlessly up the 25 1/2" scale, and the locking nut measures 1 5/8" in width. The headstock is fitted with the original black Jackson-branded tuners that turn smoothly.
The electronics function as intended, with Master Volume and Tone controls, knurled black knobs, and a five-way pickup selector switch. The Jackson-branded Floyd Rose Licensed tremolo is designed for deep divebombs and broad, expressive wails with ideal tuning stability, complete with the original arm. The gloss finish highlights uncommon flame figuring on the mahogany body, and cosmetic wear is limited to light scuffing in the pick path, a few marks in the gloss on the lower bout body edge, and a stray finish chip adjacent to the input jack. The neck profile sports a smooth gloss finish with only a couple minuscule marks that are not distracting to the palm.
The original Jackson-branded molded hardshell case is included.
