Up for sale, a 2013 Gibson SG Baritone in excellent condition and in perfect working order, finished in Alpine White gloss nitro lacquer and complete with the original hardshell case. Tuned B to B on a 27" scale with 14-68 roundwound strings, the SG Baritone is an absolute powerhouse, channeling the warmth and richness of the solid mahogany construction via the original pair of ceramic magnet 496R and 500T humbucker pair. Thick and cutting, these humbuckers feature double white bobbins and accentuate the growl and chug of the roundwound strings. This SG weighs 7lbs 9oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar for optimal action and intonation.
The mahogany neck has a round, substantial C profile carve with ample shoulder, measuring .860" deep at the 1st fret and .945" at the 12th (notably larger than the advertised factory measurements for this model). The Richlite fretboard features perfect slender fretwire, and the guitar plays easily up the 27" scale. The nut measures 1 11/16" in width, and the headstock features tulip button Grover Rotomatic tuning machines and a custom "Betty White" truss rod cover.
All of the electronics function as intended, with the stock wiring harness and Push/Pull Volume knobs that individually coil tap the humbuckers for articulate, sparkling single coil tones. The hardware includes the chrome Nashville bridge and stopbar, and the double white humbucker covers are accented by a quartet of white bonnet knobs and a custom "Betty White" switch surround. Cosmetic wear on the gloss Alpine White finish includes a few small isolated spots of darker spotting in the nitro gloss on the back, one ding of note on the back of the treble-side body horn, and a shallower mark just behind the bridge. There is also light scuffing on the lower bout body edge and on the treble side of the pick path, and one faint line of lacquer checking extending between the pickups and along the treble-side hardware mounting posts. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.
