Up for sale, a 2010 Fender American Vintage '57 Stratocaster in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, hangtags, and case candy. A discontinued model, this Strat features one of the rarer custom colors briefly offered in the American Vintage line, Ocean Turquoise. Tonally, this Strat delivers classic sparkle and twang via the original trio of Fender 57/62 pickups. With staggered, beveled alnico magnets, these pickups are faithful to vintage-spec with black fiber bobbins and push-back cloth-covered leads. The bridge position is spanky and bright while retaining an inherent warmth and sweetness, the "in-between" positions on the five-way switch are all quack and snap, and the neck pickup has the girth, clarity, and bell-like chime that makes it perfect for rhythm work and singing lead lines. Particularly smooth and lively-sounding even unplugged, this alder-bodied Strat weighs 7lbs 10oz and has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, accurate intonation, and low action.
The one-piece maple neck has a soft V profile carve, measuring .865" deep at the 1st fret and .915" at the 12th. It's a very easy playing neck with fretboard edges that are faintly rolled for added comfort. The 7 1/4" radius fretboard retains the original slender vintage-spec fretwire, and the frets have well-rounded crowns and their full factory height, showing only a touch of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3. The neck is straight, the truss rod is ideally adjusted, and the guitar plays well in every register. The original nut measures 1 5/8" in width. On the headstock, the original Stratocaster waterslide decal is completely intact along with the original Kluson-style tuning machines. The neck heel is dated Jan 15th, 2010, and the pocket and heel have additional factory stamps from Jan, 2010.
All of the electronics function as intended, with the factory provided five-way pickup selector toggle and CTS pots that date back to the 49th week of 2008. The body routes are clean and unmodified, with the "COL" stamp in the neck pickup cavity signifying a solid custom color. All original white plastic parts are near mint and show sparingly little aging. Currently setup with three springs, the vibrato is particularly smooth and responsive, jumping back to the original pitch with ease even after deep dives. The chrome hardware is positively gleaming, and the original bridge cover is also intact. Cosmetic wear on the Ocean Turquoise Metallic nitro lacquer gloss is limited to wear through the clear coat in an isolated area on treble side on the back lower bout, and a few tiny nicks behind the bridge, just beyond the pickguard at the bass-side waist, and on the back. The neck profile features a lightly ambered smooth gloss, free of palm wear and flawless.
The original Fender-branded G&G Deluxe tweed hardshell case is included, along with the original hangtags and case candy.
