Up for sale, a 2020 Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition '72 Telecaster Thinline in like new condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, case candy, hangtags, and COA. This Tele represents one of those rare occurrences where the Custom Shop can craft an instrument that's better than the original, while retaining the key sonic factors that made the Telecaster Thinlines of the '70s so beloved. The fit and finish work is exquisite, the tonewoods are carefully selected, and the guitar boasts a thin nitro lacquer gloss finish for optimal resonance (as opposed to the poly finishes seen on vintage examples).

Featherweight at 6lbs, the guitar is extremely lively, dynamic, and tonally complex, with the distinctive note attack of the maple fretboard and ash body, as well as the complex midrange character of ash and added sweetness and warmth of the semi-hollowbody construction. At the heart of this model are the genuine Wide Range humbuckers, recently reintroduced with the vintage correct CuNiFe (Copper, Nickel, Iron) magnet structure. These pickups deliver a lush bass response and supreme treble purity, balancing rich humbucker warmth with a percussive cut and sparkle not typically afforded a humbucker. We've given the factory setup a once-over here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar to ensure optimal playability and intonation, and the guitar is currently strung with 10-46 strings.

The AA quartersawn maple neck has Fender's oval C-shaped profile carve which is particularly round and full-feeling with generous shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .850" deep at the 1st fret and .920" at the 12th. The 6105 fretwire has ample height and crown while retaining a more slender vintage width, showing zero wear and playing effortlessly up the 9 1/2" radius fretboard. The profile also shows simulated wear down to the bare maple behind frets 1-11. The genuine carved bone nut measures 1.650" in width, and the headstock features Schaller F-style tuning machines and a Limited Edition Custom Shop badge, with matching neck plate and CZ-prefix serial number.

The electronics function flawlessly, and the hardware and plastic parts all benefit from the factory Heavy Relic treatment, simulating a well-loved instrument. The nitro lacquer Sunburst gloss has a vintage-correct burst gradient, exhibiting prominent simulated buckle rash and edge wear as part of the factory relic. The instrument is like new, with virtually no wear beyond the factory aging.

The original hardshell case, hangtags, case candy, and COA/build sheet booklet are included.
