Up for sale, a 2014 Gibson Les Paul Studio Pro in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A limited model offered in a single production run in 2014 for Gibson's 120th Anniversary, the Studio Pro has a bevy of upscale features including a figured flame maple top finished in gloss Fireburst Candy nitro lacquer, a pair of Gibson's PAF humbuckers, individual coil taps for each pickup, Grover Rotomatic tuning machines, and a Gibson USA hardshell case.
The instrument features a traditional Les Paul tonewood compliment with a carved two-piece maple cap, mahogany body, and one-piece mahogany neck with a slab rosewood fretboard. The instrument has a rich, lively natural acoustic tone that translates well through the humbuckers. The pickup compliment includes a 57 Classic PAF in the neck position, and a Burstbucker Pro at the bridge. The 57 Classic features Alnico II magnets, wax-potted for optimal feedback rejection, offering a warm, full tone with a balanced response. The Burstbucker Pro utilizes Alnico V magnets and unmatched bobbin windings. The sound is fat and meaty, interacting well with high gain amps and providing excellent feedback rejection while having a general tonal profile consistent with the PAF design. Whether you seek warm, silky neck pickup tonalities or bridge pickup sounds that have some push and growl, this Les Paul is a great candidate for covering a wide range of genres. Extremely lightweight at only 8lbs, we've had this Les Paul professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
The mahogany neck has a slender C profile carve with particularly full, round shoulders and a hair more heft as you travel up the thick slab rosewood fretboard, measuring .820" deep at the 1st fret and .890" at the 12th. The original fretwire is flawless, and the fretboard is inlaid with pearloid trapezoids, featuring a 120th Anniversary inlay at the 12th fret. The guitar features the Les Paul's typical 24 3/4" scale length and 1 11/16" nut width, and the headstock is fitted with original Grover Rotomatic tuning machines that turn smoothly and hold pitch well.
All of the electronics function as intended, with the PAF pickup pair wired to individual Push/Pull Volume pots to coil tap each humbucker for snappy single coil tonalities. The wiring harness also features premium Sprague Orange Drop tone capacitors. The chrome-plated hardware is positively gleaming, and the plastic parts are near mint, with special black speed knobs that have ridged tops for easier grip and effortless swells. The Fireburst Candy nitro lacquer gloss finish is very similar to Gibson's Desert Burst, highlighting the curly flame figuring that extends evenly across the top and is particularly lively on the lower bout. Extremely well-kept, cosmetic wear is limited to one tiny ding central to the back, faint pick scuffing across the guard, and a few light finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the body as a whole. The neck profile gloss is flawless.
The original black tolex Gibson USA hardshell case is included.
