Up for sale, a 2006 Fender Stratocaster '57 vintage reissue model ST57-58US in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original factory installed Fender American Vintage 57/62 pickups. Crafted in Japan, this guitar was made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and is rarely seen outside its country of origin with a gloss Black finish. The guitar weighs 7lbs 12oz with a basswood body and resonant, snappy acoustic tone, and the factory-installed Fender USA pickups match vintage spec with black fiber bobbins and cloth-covered leads. These clear and chiming Fender single coils have great midrange chirp, tight bass, and a plenty of sparkle and snap. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with fresh 10-46 strings, this Strat is ready for stage and studio use.
The maple neck has a round and chunky 50s C-shaped profile carve with generous shoulder and faintly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .880" deep at the 1st fret and .965" at the 12th. The original slender frets are practically perfect with well-rounded crowns. The truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted, the neck is straight, and the guitar plays well in all registers. The guitar adheres to vintage Fender spec with a 7 1/4" fretboard radius on the 25 1/2" scale, and the nut measures 1 5/8" in width. On the headstock, the Kluson-style Gotoh tuning machines have the correct vintage look, turn smoothly, and hold pitch well.
All of the electronics work as they should, and the USA-made Fender 57/62 pickups are cleanly wired to the stock Japanese harness and five-way pickup selector switch. These pickups are an incredible value and feature all of the hallmarks of vintage Fender design, with black fiber bobbins, staggered un-beveled alnico magnets, and cloth-covered leads. The vibrato has a large block for great sustain, and the unit is very responsive for smooth surfy warbles and deeper dives, jumping back into tune with ease. The chrome hardware is clean as can be, and the plastic parts are near mint. Cosmetic wear on the gloss Black finish is limited to some small dings and a singular finish chip on the back lower bout body edge, with just a few additional minor nicks and finish scratches on the body as a whole. The ambered gloss on the neck is flawless, with a touch of curly flame figuring along the profile length.
The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
