Up for sale, a 2014 Fujigen FGN Neo Classic NPB100-BK bass in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original padded gigbag and factory paperwork. As the factory best known for Fender Japan's output in their golden "Made in Japan" era, Fujigen also continues to craft spectacular instruments under their own banner. This modern bass borrows the essential details of the ‘60s Precision Bass platform, with a solid alder body and one-piece maple neck capped with a slab Kalimantan ebony fretboard, outfitted with a passive split-coil P-style pickup. The smooth, even-sounding tonal platform of alder pairs well with the note articulation and glassy treble character of the ebony fingerboard, channeled through the FGN62P pickup. This traditional split-coil design delivers powerful low end with beefy mids and good top end definition, offering a broad thump when rolling the Tone knob back to taste. This FGN weighs 9lbs 7oz and has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with roundwound 45-105 strings, comfortable action, and accurate intonation.
The one-piece maple neck has a medium U-shaped profile carve at the nut, with generous shoulder and more heft as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .850” deep at the 1st fret and .995” at the 12th. The slab Kalimantan ebony fretboard features lightly rolled edges, dot inlay, and stock medium jumbo fretwire. The frets show virtually no wear with their full height and well-rounded crowns, playing cleanly in all registers up the straight neck with an ideally adjusted truss rod. The scale length is a full 34”, and the nut measures 1 9/16“ in width. The headstock features nickel Gotoh clover button tuners which turn smoothly and function as intended, showing just a hint of surface patina.
On the body, the pickup is wired to a traditional P-Bass control array with Master Volume and Tone controls. The black three-ply pickguard shows light scuffing parallel to the strings and complements the gloss Black finish on the body. Cosmetic wear is limited to a few light marks in the finish on the treble side lower bout edge and at the waist. The neck profile sports a pristine smooth gloss finish.
The original padded gigbag and factory paperwork is included.
