Up for sale, a 2006 Gibson Les Paul Standard DC (Double Cutaway) Pro in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Engineered to compete directly with Paul Reed Smith and boasting easy access to the highest registers via the double cutaway design, this Les Paul was made for speed and power. The guitar has a traditional Les Paul tonewood compliment with a carved, bookmatched flame maple top finished in gloss Trans Red (Cherry) nitro lacquer and framed by cream binding, capping a mahogany body.

The guitar delivers a traditional array of singing, rich humbucker tonalities via the pair of Gibson's Burstbucker Pro PAFs. The Burstbucker Pros are a slightly hot-rodded version of Gibson's Burstbucker PAF, with unmatched bobbin windings and Alnico V magnets (in place of the usual Alnico II). The sound is fat and meaty, interacting well with high gain amps and providing excellent feedback rejection while having a general tonal profile consistent with the PAF design. Whether you seek warm, silky neck pickup tonalities or bridge pickup sounds that have some push and growl, this Les Paul is a great candidate for covering a wide range of genres. Lively and lightweight at only 7lbs 12oz, this Les Paul has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with low action, spot-on intonation and 10-46 strings.

The one-piece mahogany neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve, firmly in the "60s" camp as Gibson classifies their neck carves, with full shoulders and a fast yet substantial feel. The profile measures .805" deep at the 1st fret and .900" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard features aged pearloid trapezoid inlay, and the original frets retain their full factory height, showing only very light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-7 and virtually no wear further up the fingerboard. The guitar conforms to Gibson's 24 3/4" scale length, and also has Gibson's traditional 1 11/16" nut width. The headstock retains the original Gibson Deluxe nickel tuning machines with greened tulip buttons which turn very smoothly and hold pitch as they should.

All of the electronics function as intended, with a three-way pickup selector toggle and Master Volume and Tone controls governing the Burstbucker Pro PAF pickup pair. Both pickups retain their Burstbucker stickers on the baseplates, and the neck pickup cavity reveals the traditional long neck tenon design. The chrome hardware has plenty of shine, with a Nashville bridge and corresponding stopbar, while a pair of deeply ambered bonnet knobs round out the plastics. The Cherry gloss nitro lacquer finish (categorized here as Trans Red) highlights the tight, curly tiger flame figuring which extends evenly across the top, and the guitar has been very well-kept over the past 15 years. There is light buckle rash at the bass side waist and just north of the control cavity cover, a few pinhead-sized nicks on top adjacent to the knobs and behind the bridge, and a few additional faint finish scratches and minor marks on the body as a whole. There is one additional small ding on the headstock edge adjacent to the A tuner post, while the neck profile gloss is flawless and free of palm wear

The original black tolex Gibson USA hardshell case is included, along with a couple original hangtags.
