Up for sale, a 2004 Ibanez AT300 Andy Timmons Signature Model electric guitar in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with padded Ibanez gigbag. Produced at the famed Fujigen factory from 2004-2007, this rare, discontinued signature model for glam guitarist Andy Timmons is an exceptional example of the quality craftsmanship from Ibanez Japan. Featuring a contoured solid mahogany body with a gloss Antique Violin finish, a one-piece maple neck, slab rosewood fingerboard, and an HSS array of DiMarzio pickups, this guitar is a vital-sounding, tonally versatile instrument. The pickup complement includes a dual rail Dimarzio Cruiser in both the neck and middle positions, providing the tonal benefits of a traditional single coil without the typical associated noise. Sonically, the Cruiser produces a nice chunk in the bass register, with an open, vocal midrange character and rich harmonic overtones. The AT-1 humbucker in the bridge position was specifically designed for the mahogany body and longer scale of the AT300, offering an exceptional balance of warmth and clarity, even in high gain situations. This Ibanez is lightweight at 7lbs 12oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, accurate intonation, and fast action.
The one-piece maple neck has Ibanez's AT Prestige neck profile carve, a C shape with modest shoulder and an effortless feel, measuring .845” deep at the 1st fret and .910” at the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard features a 12” radius, regal AT inlay, and stock jumbo fretwire. The frets have their full factory height with well-rounded crowns, showing just a hint of wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 2-8, and virtually no wear further up the fretboard. The guitar plays effortlessly up the straight neck with an ideally adjusted and responsive truss rod. The guitar boasts a full 648mm (25 1/2") scale length, and the nut measures 40.5mm (just a hair under 1 5/8"). The headstock features the original Sperzel locking tuners which ensure optimal tuning stability, even with heavy vibrato use.
On the body, the electronics function as intended, with a five-way pickup selector blade switch, Master Volume, Neck/Middle Volume, and Master Tone control. The original trio of Strat-style knobs and corresponding switch tip are intact, and the nickel Wilkinson by Gotoh VSVG Vintage Tremolo offers modern, Strat-style performance. Designed for enhanced sustain and improved reliability, the VSVG features elongated baseplate holes so the screws won't bind, ensuring a very smooth, accurate return to pitch. The strings are staggered in the steel trem block for increased tuning stability due to the more consistent string angle over the adjustable locking bent-steel saddles. Cosmetic wear on the Antique Violin gloss finish is limited to a few small finish chips on the lower bout body edge and a small mark on the tip of the headstock. The neck profile is incredibly clean, with just a couple minuscule marks on the smooth gloss finish.
A padded Ibanez gigbag is included.
