Up for sale, a 2007 ESP Edwards Forest electric guitar model E-FR-130GT in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A uniquely contoured axe with a sculpted, bony appearance, this rare ESP model was made under the Edwards banner in Japan and is rarely seen outside its country of origin. Tonewoods include ash body wings and nine-ply maple and walnut neck through construction, finished in gloss transparent See Thru White and outfitted with the original pair of USA-made Seymour Duncan pickups. The through body construction ensures exceptional sustain and resonance, while the slab ebony fretboard contributes to the treble articulation and glassy note attack of the instrument.
The Seymour Duncan SH-1 neck pickup was designed in the spirit of the original PAF, with sweet singing sustain, wound to deliver full-sounding chords and articulate midrange attack. The SH-4 "JB" at the bridge is Duncan's original high output humbucker. The low end is rich and powerful, the highs are crisp and detailed, and there’s an upper-midrange presence that adds crunch and chunk to heavy chords, while translating to a singing, vocal-like quality when you play single notes or solos. Weighing 7lbs 15oz, this Forest guitar has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, accurate intonation, and fast action.
The maple and walnut neck has a medium C shaped profile carve with good shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .840” deep at the 1st fret and .980” at the 12th. The thick slab ebony fretboard features a 12" fretboard radius, abalone mini dot inlay, and flawless stock jumbo fretwire. The guitar plays effortlessly in all registers up the straight neck with a responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The scale length is a full 25 1/2“, and the locking nut measures 1 5/8“ in width, holding pitch against the most extreme tremolo acrobatics. The matching See Thru White headstock finish features the Edwards logo, and the guitar is outfitted with a chrome set of Gotoh tuners that turn smoothly.
On the body, the electronics work as they should, with Master Volume and Tone knobs, a three-way pickup toggle selector toggle, and a Volume/Tone bypass switch. The chrome hardware shines like new, including the Floyd Rose locking tremolo, capable of deep divebombs and broad expressive gestures, complete with the original arm. The gloss transparent See Thru White finish highlights the grain of the ash wings and the maple/walnut neck through construction. There is a large finish chip at the tail end of the guitar, with an additional minuscule finish chip on the back edge of the bass side lower bout. Otherwise, the finish is particularly clean, and the neck sports a pristine smooth gloss on the profile.
A gigbag is included.
