Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Tube Reverb Unit in extremely clean, collector-grade condition and in perfect working order. This Pre-CBS all tube design features original smooth black tolex, silver sparkle grillcloth, and raised logo. The original two-spring tank delivers lush and detailed spring reverb, powered by a Ken-Rad-branded USA-made 6K6 tube. With controls for Dwell, Mix and Tone, it's easy to dial in the perfect amount of splash and sparkle, and this classic Fender effect simply goes in-line between your guitar and amp.
The circuit is very original and well-maintained, with a couple blue Ajax and yellow Astron capacitors retained in the preamp along with a few new Sprague Orange Drops. The stock transformers all date to 1964, along with the chassis stamp and original Stackpole pots. The main filter caps have been replaced, and the smaller electrolytic caps in the preamp have also been cleanly upgraded to ensure trouble-free performance. The original two-spring tank is intact, with a date stamp from the 43d week of '64, and the original RCA cables with braided shielding running to the circuit. The tube chart is intact as well, with an NL date stamp which translates to December of '64.
The original smooth black tolex is in remarkable condition, as is the original silver sparkle grillcloth and gleaming raised Fender logo. The faceplate is similarly clean with a speckling of surface patina, complete with original cream barrel knobs.
