Up for sale, a 2000's Mosrite Ventures Model ‘65 vintage reissue electric guitar in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order with a custom color Pearl White gloss finish and original hardshell case. This rare reissue replicates the essential features of early Ventures Model instruments, with smooth knobs and embossed pickup covers, a sandcast Vibramute tailpiece, and prominent German Carve on the basswood body. The stock pair of single coil pickups have ample power and midrange content, wound properly to vintage-spec and both reading over 13k ohms, providing an authoritative sound that's quintessential Mosrite. Weighing 8lbs 4oz, this Mosrite has been setup here at Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, comfortable action, and spot-on intonation.

Few guitars have a more storied history than the Mosrite brand, especially in the modern era, and this particular model is a rarely seen reissue crafted by Fillmore in Japan. Perhaps best known for being imported to the USA by Ed Roman and purportedly sold as "USA-made" (sometimes right down to the headstock decal and case silkscreen), this Mosrite is one of Fillmore's earlier models with the "Mosrite of California" headstock nomenclature and "Ventures Model" text. Boasting incredible fit and finish work, this Fillmore-made Mosrite is an extremely finely crafted instrument worthy of Semie Moseley's legacy.

The maple neck has a slender and fast-feeling C-shaped profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders, measuring .810” deep at the 1st fret and .855” at the 12th. On the bound dark rosewood fretboard, the original slender vintage-style frets retain their full factory height, showing moderate wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-5 and lighter wear until fret 10. The guitar plays cleanly in every register with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. A faithful reissue in every respect, this Mosrite boasts a 24 3/4" scale length and a 1 9/16" wide aluminum nut accompanied by a zero fret. The headstock features Kluson-style tuners that have the classic '60s look and hold pitch well with unbridled vibrato use. The serial number is stamped on the last fret into the rosewood, just like vintage examples.

On the body, the electronics work as they should, with the original pickup pair, each measuring over 13k ohms with embossed "Mosrite of California" covers. The pickups are governed by Master Volume and Tone controls with smooth chrome plated knobs (predating the more common "M" knobs), along with a three-way pickup selector switch with a milled aluminum switch tip, following vintage spec down to the smallest details. The “Vibramute” vibrato is extremely smooth and elegant, touch-sensitive in its responsiveness and made to exacting vintage spec with a sandcast base and chrome plated string anchor and arm.

The instrument features a rare custom color Pearl White gloss finish that highlights the pitch perfect contours of the German Carve top. While there are numerous takes on Mosrite's prominent top carve, this particular example absolutely nails the elegant curves and proper depth of Mosrite's German Carve. The neck profile is flawless, and the chrome hardware is positively gleaming. Cosmetic wear is limited to light pick scuffing across the guard and a few small, shallow dings on the body as a whole.

The original black tolex hardshell case is included.
