Up for sale, a 2000's Mosrite Super Custom 65 Ventures Model electric guitar in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Crafted at the KuroKumo factory in Japan, just down the road from the famed FujiGen factory, this rare reissue model was made for a limited period, with the majority of examples only available to the domestic Japanese market. KuroKumo-made Mosrites are sought after for their masterful build quality and attention to detail, and this Super Custom 65 replicates all the essential features of the early Ventures Model instruments, with smooth knobs, sandcast Vibramute tailpiece, and prominent German Carve on the basswood body. The stock pair of stock single coil pickups are snappy and sparkling, not as overwound as some, yet still providing a bold, distinct sound in every pickup position. Chewy and snappy at the bridge and broader at the neck, these pickups offer an authoritative treble zing that's quintessential Mosrite. Weighing 8lbs 12oz, this Mosrite has been setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck has Mosrite's signature slender D-shaped neck profile carve, and this one's even more slim and fast-feeling than most, with a smooth gloss finish and a bound rosewood fretboard. The profile measures .785” deep at the 1st fret and .850” at the 12th. The rosewood board is a nice dark cut, retaining the original slender vintage-style frets which have their full factory height with just a hair more crown than vintage Mosrite fretwire. The frets are extremely clean, showing just a hint of wear on the crowns of frets 1-3 beneath the plain strings. A faithful reissue in every respect, this Mosrite boasts a 24 3/4" scale length and 1 9/16" wide zero fret just forward of the aluminum nut. The headstock features Kluson-style tuners that which turn smoothly and hold pitch well with liberal vibrato use.

The body features original single coil pickups, and while these pickups are less aggressive in terms of output than vintage Mosrite pickups, they have a nice snappy single coil chime. The '65 look is rounded out with a three-ply tortoise pickguard, screw-on switch tip, and chrome-plated metal Mosrite knobs machined with smooth tops (the design that predated the more common "M" knobs). The “Vibramute” vibrato is extremely smooth and elegant, touch-sensitive in its responsiveness and made to exacting vintage spec with a sandcast base and chrome-plated string anchor and arm that shows only light surface patina.

The Pearl White finish is one of the rarer options offered on Kurokumo's Mosrites, and the finish shows virtually no yellowing of the clear coat, with cosmetic wear limited to light pick scuffing on the guard and just a few tiny dings on the body as a whole. The neck profile is flawless.

The original faux alligator hardshell case is included.
