Up for sale, a 2009 Edwards by ESP E-PO-100D Potbelly electric guitar in near mint condition and in perfect working order. A rare instrument made in Japan under ESP's "Edwards" banner, this guitar delivers the goods with a solid mahogany body and highly figured bookmatched flame maple top, loaded with a stock pair of USA-made Seymour Duncan SH-1 humbuckers. The SH-1 was designed in the spirit of the original PAF, with sweet, singing sustain, wound to deliver clear, full chords and a touch of midrange growl when you dig in. This Potbelly weighs 8lbs 5oz and has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with low action and spot-on intonation.
The mahogany neck has a modestly slender C shape with slight shoulders, lightly rolled fretboard edges, and an effortless, fast feel, measuring .840" deep at the 1st fret and .915" at the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard features dot inlay and the original fretwire, which has a fairly slender width and lots of height and crown. There is faint uniform wear on the 1st fret, extending only beneath the plain strings to fret 5 with virtually no wear further up the fretboard. The guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The fretboard radius is 12”, and the nut is a hand-carved piece of bone, ensuring optimal note clarity and sustain, measuring 1 11/16" in width. The headstock features a set of chrome Gotoh tuners that turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should.
The electronics function as intended, with the factory-installed Seymour Duncan humbuckers wired to a three-way pickup selector switch and Master Volume and Tone knobs. The stock chrome hardware shows faint surface patina, while the original factory plastic film is still intact on the rear control cavity cover, a testament to the sparingly little use the guitar has seen since new. The transparent Amber Cherry Sunburst finish highlights the figured flame top, accented by a pinstripe of bare natural maple "binding" around the perimeter. Cosmetic wear is limited to a few faint errant scuffs and scratches in the clear coat of the gloss, with a small finish chip at the treble side lower bout edge. The neck sports a flawless gloss finish on the profile.
The original padded ESP gigbag is included.
