Up for sale, a 1960s Mosrite Minister electric guitar in excellent condition and in perfect working order. A very rare semi-official Mosrite model, the Minister has a unique history, crafted in Japan at the Maruyama Teisco factory. After the expiration of Semie Moseley's agreement with the Firstman company in Japan to produce officially licensed Mosrite models, the remainder of Firstman's Mosrite stock was sold to Maruyama Teisco, which produced this model based on Mosrite's Combo.

The maple body features a thick German Carved top, flat back, and hollowbody construction, loaded with the original humbucker pair, metering at 7.35k ohms in the bridge position and 7.6k at the neck. The bridge pickup has a nice, slightly honky snap, while the neck position humbucker is particularly broad and bold sounding. Sweet, smooth, and detailed in the top end but not overly bright, the pickups compliment the natural acoustic properties of the body. The guitar weighs 9lbs 2oz and has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 roundwound strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The three-piece maple neck has a C shaped profile carve with moderate shoulder yet quite a bit of overall roundness and heft, tapering imperceptibly up the board. The profile measures .865" deep at the 1st fret and .905" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard is an extremely dark cut, and the original slender frets are intact, showing just a touch of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3, with wear extending beneath the B string until fret 5 and virtually no wear further up the fretboard. The scale length is a full 24 3/4", and the fretboard measures 1 5/8" in width at the zero fret just forward of the nut. The headstock retains the original distinctive Japanese tuners with paddle buttons and embossed gear housings.

All of the electronics function as intended, and the pickups are governed by Master Volume and Tone knobs with particularly robust chrome-plated knobs with V and T-etched tops. The bridge is a vintage-spec Mosrite design with nylon roller saddles, working in concert with the Moseley-style vibrato. The vibrato has been fitted with a new arm and corresponding tall, slender spring courtesy of Hallmark guitars, and the vibrato has the smooth, easy-actuating feel one expects from Mosrite. The original gloss Sunburst finish is framed by deeply ambered body binding which is semi-transluscent in some areas. Incredibly well-kept, cosmetic wear is limited to some chipping through the black plating on the pickup covers and just a few scattered minor dings and finish scratches commensurate with age on the guitar as a whole.

A gigbag is included.
