Designed in conjunction with boutique pedal builder Analog Man, the Duke of Tone is perfect for the player who wants to add a touch of warmth or grit to their rig while allowing their natural tone to shine through, all in a tiny, pedalboard-friendly enclosure.Based on the Prince of Tone Overdrive, this single-channel drive features components personally tested and matched by Analog Mike, ensuring a warm-yet-clear-and-open sound that encourages plenty of signal chain nuance and dynamic feel. Simple, user-friendly controls include Volume, Drive, and Tone knobs, plus the OD/Boost/Distortion mini-toggle to set the overall attitude of the pedal’s output. Boost is clean-yet-vigorous, especially with Drive dialed up; OD adds a touch of grit and compression; Distortion adds a bit more of each. Regardless of the mode, however, natural rig tone comes through. Additionally, the Duke of Tone can be run on 18V (instead of the standard 9V) for an extra touch of headroom and clarity, especially in Boost mode.The tiny enclosure ensures that there’s room for the Duke of Tone on just about any pedalboard. Cosmetically, this pedal is in fantastic shape, with nary a mark on it.
