Up for sale, a 1970s Firstman Mosrite Ventures Model in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with its original hardshell case. A continuation of the Ventures Model legacy, this guitar follows the stylings of the 1960s USA-made Mosrites, produced in Japan as a result of an agreement between Semie Moseley and the Firstman company. Weighing 9lbs, this instrument effectively captures all the finer points of classic Mosrite design: with a Moseley vibrato tailpiece, “Mosrite”-stamped pickup covers, and German Carve on the basswood body, this Ventures Model is 100% original save for a bone nut.
The stock pair of single coil pickups is snappy and sparkling, wound on the hotter end of the Mosrite spectrum, delivering a bold, distinct sound in every pickup position. Metering at ~10.6k ohms, these pickups are articulate and lively, with an authoritative treble zing that’s quintessential Mosrite; the neck pickup is fat and broad, while the bridge has a chewier, snappy quality. This Ventures Model benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
