Up for sale, a Magnatone Varsity Reverb in showroom-clean condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original slip cover and footswitch. Sparingly played since new, this 15 watt combo amp features an intuitive control layout and lush spring reverb, powered by a pair of EL84 power tubes driving a single Magnatone Custom 12” ceramic magnet speaker, designed for Magnatone by WGS.
Simple, elegant, and expertly-made, the Varsity Reverb excels at delivering rich harmonics, surprising headroom, and ripping overdrive, all in a compact modern unit with vintage aesthetic appeal (this particular iteration hails from Magnatone’s Traditional Collection). Its straightforward design consists of a single channel with two ¼” inputs, and the control layout includes Volume, Treble, Bass, and Reverb controls. Additionally, a negative feedback switch allows for the amp to have more compression, break up, and sizzle when engaged, or sound fuller and bolder in the opposite position.
Cosmetically, there’s barely a mark on the brown leatherette covering, and the grillcloth is equally pristine.
The original slip cover and footswitch are included.
