Up for sale, a circa 2021 Iris OG in near-mint condition, complete with the original hardshell case and factory paperwork. The Iris brand was started by master luthier Adam Buchwald as a spin-off of his Vermont-based Circle Strings; Buchwald had been making premium, handcrafted custom guitars and mandolins under the Circle name, but was frustrated that he couldn’t offer instruments at a more affordable price point. Doing away with time-consuming appointments including pearl ornamentation, grain filler, and gloss finishes, Buchwald was able to make instruments with the exquisite craftsmanship of his flagship brand at a much more reasonable price.
The OG was the first Iris model, taking its slope-shouldered design cues from vintage Gibson LG series acoustics, and the tonewood complement comprises a Sitka spruce top with scalloped Adirondack spruce X-bracing, mahogany back and sides, a one-piece mahogany neck, and Indian rosewood fingerboard. Highly responsive to user inputs, this guitar has ample projection on tap, immediate and punchy, with an articulate, dry quality and notably full midrange response. There’s a brassy growl and heft from the wound strings, with exceptional string-to-string balance and treble sweetness. The K&K Sound Pure Mini passive piezo sensors faithfully capture the natural sound of the instrument, coupled to a Volume wheel at the soundhole. This OG weights 3lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 13-56 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

The lack of grain filler gives the satin nitrocellulose Natural finish a smooth open pore feel, and there’s barely a scratch on the body. The satin nitro finish on the neck profile is similarly immaculate.
The original TKL hardshell case is included, along with the factory documentation/ephemera (and K&K Sound Pure Mini user manual).
