The TS-808 Tube Screamer circuit has been endlessly copied by boutique pedal builders, and this genuine Ibanez reissue features the same JRC4558D IC chip and analog circuitry as the original.
Of the different chips used to voice this pedal, the JRC4558D chip is the one known to create the most recognizable and sought after TS-808 tone, with a very vocal midrange quality. From sweet, pronounced midrange content to powerful boost capabilities and smooth overdrive characteristics, this pedal delivers a tone that has been endlessly copied but never duplicated.
