Out Of Stock
Up for sale, a 2009 Ibanez Prestige J Craft SR5000E bass in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This Prestige series bass was crafted in Japan and is a discontinued model from the first year of the SR5000E's production run, boasting a wenge top and back sandwiching a mahogany core, paired with a five-piece wenge/bubinga neck and wenge fretboard.

Loaded with the original pair of USA Bartolini Custom pickups coupled to the Power Curve III active EQ circuit, this bass has a range of detailed tonalities with excellent growl and upper midrange articulation as well as pillowy, broad low end as needed. The sound can be tailored to taste via the three-knob EQ, Mid Q control, and center detent pickup Balancer control, and the active EQ can be disengaged via the discreet two-way mini toggle. The bass weighs 9lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and accurate intonation.

The five-piece wenge/bubinga neck has a very slender C-shaped profile carve with modest shoulder, measuring .770" deep at the 1st fret and .885" at the 12th. On the wenge fretboard, the frets show virtually no wear, and the bass plays easily up the full 34" scale with a 305mm (12") radius, straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 1/2" in width, and the headstock has a rosewood veneer, Prestige truss rod cover, and gold Gotoh tuning machines that turn very smoothly.

All of the electronics function as intended, and the Power Curve III preamp controls all retain their original knobs. The gold-plated Mono-Rail IV bridge has 19mm string spacing, showing just a touch of surface patina. The rich satin walnut finish is categorized as "Oil" in the Ibanez catalog description, and cosmetic wear is limited to a few very faint finish scratches central to the back, and one tiny scuff on the inside edge of the treble-side body horn.

The original hardshell case is included.
