Up for sale, a Hofner HCT 500/1CV Cavern Club Contemporary bass in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and Hofner-branded strap. A modern iteration of the Violin Bass platform, this 500/1CV is differentiated from other “Beatle basses” by its semi-hollow construction, which increases sustain and mitigates potential feedback.
This Hofner features a maple centerblock, flame maple back, maple rims, and an arched spruce top. A three-piece maple/beech/maple neck capped with a rosewood fretboard rounds out the tonewood complement, yielding a distinctive acoustic thud and pluck, smooth and sweet sounding via the pair of Hofner H510B Diamond humbuckers. The bass has a warm, woody, upright bass-like amplified tone with a pillowy thump, and the bass' Beatle-esque sonic signature is cemented by a set of 45-100 flatwound strings. Lightweight at 6lbs 4oz, this Hofner has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with easy-playing action and accurate intonation.

-Wood: Three-piece Maple and Beech
