Up for sale, a Harvey Leach 17" archtop in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, outfitted with a Benedetto floating pickup and complete with the original hardshell case. A one-man shop perhaps best known for his unrivaled inlay work (seen on his own instruments and numerous collaborations with Martin), Leach builds premium acoustics and archtops under his own banner. This jazzbox features a hand-carved and graduated 17" X-braced spruce top, figured bookmatched walnut back and rims, a maple/mahogany neck, and an ebony fingerboard.
A full 17” wide and 3 1/2“ deep, this Leach archtop delivers bold midrange chop, great detail, and a dynamic, responsive feel. There’s a notable smoothness to the low end, accentuated by the 12-53 flatwound strings. The trebles are clear and immediate acoustically, and plugged in, the Benedetto floating humbucker has a round silky quality with a woody midrange. This Leach weighs 6lbs 6oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with easy-playing action and accurate intonation.
