Up for sale, a Gibson J-185 Harley Davidson Limited Edition in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with its original hardshell case and deluxe leather strap. One of only 1,500 made between 1994-95, this Gibson was made in the Bozeman, Montana factory during Gibson’s ‘centennial’ era, in partnership with the iconic motorcycle manufacturer in joint celebration of both their 90th anniversary and Gibson’s 100th.
Weighing 4lbs 5oz, tonewoods include a sitka spruce top and maple back and rims with a three-piece maple neck that’s capped by a bound ebony fingerboard, complete with pearl Harley shield inlays. With its 15 7/8" lower bout width and 4 1/2" body depth, the guitar offers ample projection and the detail, treble clarity, and shimmer afforded this tonewood complement. The bass register is robust and snappy, with a balanced midrange and excellent string-to-string definition. The Ebony finish presents cleanly with some finish scratches and minor marks on the body as a whole, light scuffing central to the back, and a small roughly 4” area near the endpin along the back binding where the back has been reglued. The gloss finish on the neck profile is smooth and clean, save for a single shallow mark behind fret 9 that doesn’t distract the palm.
The original hardshell case and premium Harley Davidson-branded strap are included.
