Up for sale, a 2005 Gibson GA-20RVT 1x12 tube amplifier in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original footswitch. The brainchild of THD Electronics founder Andy Marshall, who worked with Gibson R&D for a time, the GA-20RVT is a versatile two-channel design. A pentode/triode switch allows for hot distortion at half wattage, and the two channels can be bridged with the ingenious third "Mix" input. While Channel One has simple Volume and Treble/Bass knobs, Channel Two has built-in tube-driven Reverb and an expanded three-band EQ. The two knob Tremolo effect spans both channels and offers a deep, throbbing pulse.
The 12" Jensen C12K speaker has a particularly robust ceramic magnet, ensuring tight low end and plenty of punch and clarity. The tubes include a matched pair of Electro Harmonix 6V6 power tubes and a host of preamp tubes from the likes of EH, Tung Sol and JJ. Four different ohmage speaker outputs offer increased versatility for a variety of speaker configurations and cabs.
The two-tone dark burgundy and cream tolex is reminiscent of Gibson's late '50s amps, and this robustly-built combo amp features dual leather handles, gold corners, gold piping, and a raised Gibson log on the amp's face.
The original Gibson-branded two-button footswitch is included.
