Up for sale, a Fender Custom Shop '57 Low Power Tweed Twin in perfect working order. A modern Custom Shop reissue of one of Fender's most iconic Tweed era circuits, this Twin provides the reliability and performance of a modern build. The first iteration of the Custom Shop '57 Twin offered by Fender, this amp is distinguished by the Jensen-style alnico magnet speakers, only available on this early, discontinued model. Both aesthetically and functionally, these speakers are faithful to their Jensen P12Q predecessors.
This dual rectified 6L6 driven amp pushes 40 touch-sensitive all tube watts, and the sound is pure '50s Fender bliss. The 5E8-A circuit is faithfully replicated, and the four input two-channel design allows for jumpering of the channels, creating interactive, cascading gain between the two Volume knobs. The amp has a chewy, dynamic clarity and grit, pushing into natural tube overdrive at volumes perfect for stage and studio use. The amp is loaded with the pair of matched original Fender-branded Groove Tubes 6L6 power tubes and pair of Electro Harmonix 5U4 rectifiers. All of the original Fender-branded preamp tubes are also intact.
The finger-jointed solid pine cabinet retains its lacquered tweed covering, with some modest staining and scuffing, largely relegated to the bottom third of the back and sides (and also the bottom of the enclosure). The chrome-plating on the faceplate is bright and clean, and most of the white silkscreen text is present.
