Up for sale, a 2000s Epiphone Elitist ‘65 Casino in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This now discontinued upscale model was produced in Japan at the Terada factory, loaded with a pair of upgraded Lindy Fralin P-90s (the original Gibson USA-made P-90 pickup pair is also included). The fully hollow maple body has a smooth, bright tone which pairs well with the upgraded P-90 pickup pair. Vintage voiced, the pair of boutique USA-made Lindy Fralin pickups have plenty of midrange snarl, with a glassy, touch-sensitive quality. Ideal for percussive cleans or thick overdrive, these pickups can produce either with ease and refinement. Featherweight at 6lbs 8oz, this Casino has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation. The mahogany neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders, measuring .840” deep at the 1st fret and .965” at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features pearloid parallelogram inlay, and the medium jumbo fretwire retains its full factory height and well-rounded crowns, only exhibiting a hint of wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-12. This guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the bone nut measures 1.650“ in width. On the headstock, the Grover Rotomatic tuning machines function reliably. The back of the headstock retains the Elitist badge. The headstock also has a “USED” stamp and a new serial number sticker, matching the serial augmenting the original oval label visible through the F hole. The re-serialization was done by the Musical Instrument Reclamation Corporation (MIRC), a company dedicated to refurbishing instruments. The factory flaw that saw the instrument sent to MIRC initially is unknown and now indistinguishable from the high level craftsmanship of the Terada factory's Epiphone instruments. The electronics include the usual Casino control layout, with dedicated Volume and Tone knobs for each Lindy Fralin P-90. The nickel-plated hardware shines like new, including the ABR-1 bridge and trapeze tailpiece, and plastics comprise the quartet of gold reflector knobs, the black Lindy Fralin pickup covers, and the three-ply white pickguard with raised silver “E” Epsilon. The gloss Natural finish highlights subtle birdseye figuring in the maple, and the guitar is stunningly clean, with just a scant few microscopic marks on the body as a whole. The smooth gloss on the neck profile is immaculate. The original black alligator tolex hardshell case with purple plush interior is included, along with the original pickups.
